The owner RON does most communication via the phone/email. I would suggest you VERIFY WITH RON PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL. If you make the drive, be sure THEY KNOW YOU'RE COMING

My dog, Dozer is a part of our family and got hit by a truck in our own yard. He needed hip surgery (FHO) and I couldn't afford it in california, so we took him to Mexico and it was a mindblowingly amazing experience. Not only did I save about $1600 USD, my dog is In excellent condition and is running around again. The clinic was cleaner then any vet I've ever been to in the US, and you can call or text questions any time and they will be answered. They even sent me pics when he was put under getting the suegery! So impressed and would recommend to anyone. Even in a non emergency situation I would go back. The beach town it's located in is beautiful and don't forget to ask for the medical pass to cross the border! Such a time saver! Thank you vet playas for saving our boy

Important: The rabies vaccine they give in Mexico is not recognized in the US for the purposes of dog licensing, but you can easily get a cheap rabies shot from the county animal shelter.

Yes, it seems unorthodox but seriously consider going across the boarder. That's what we did and WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. We have three Yorkie's who needed dental cleaning. Our local vet in Long Beach gave us $1300 per pup cost. We went to VET PLAYA and paid $538 for ALL THREE DOGS!

The Vet is NOT DIGITAL, In other words "old school". Most everything is hand written on paper, i.e. consultation, prescription directions etc

CROSSING THE BOARDER IS EASY. They will give you a medical fast pass to avoid the lines. Walking across and taking a taxi/Uber will cost about $10 each direction. Driving to Playa is super easy, just avoid Tijuana city limits because that gets a bit chaotic.

I was given a ridiculous quote back in the states to help my puppy so I told the vet let's do this since my puppy needed it. 1 week goes by and her condition got worse to the point that I had to take her to emergency. I was referred to vet playas by a friend. Of course I was iffy since it was across the border. I risked it and went. I found out it was all in my head it was a very fast drive there mexican officials on the road there too. Getting there the doctors were AMAZING! Very attentive and treated my puppy as I would, probably better. First time visit I was impressed and met a few people from the states. They told me how much they saved and loved the services. I paid about 15%-20% of what I was told in the U.S. best part is when I took my dog as an emergency they told me the doctor would wait for me. They had a small room and doctor waiting for me as I arrived I felt like it was something out of a movie. The emergency visit was pleasant and they gave me a full explaination on everything going on. Total for both visits was under 100us I just couldn't believe the service was so good. Comming here from now on. Since the fast pass they sell is worth the money you would find in your glove box. Dumps you into the front of the line. VERY SPECIAL thanks to Ron who went well out of his way to help me when I forgot one of my medications. Priscilla my new vet for her amazing help and is bilingual as well! Worth every penny!!! THANK YOU VET PLAYAS puppy is finally getting better

If you have Global Entry or Sentri, make sure you register for Sentri and drive back to the US using the Sentri entrance lane, not the regular border crossing entrance (15 min instead of 4 hours).

Just love Vet Playas! So worth the drive.. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Beats the prices here in San Diego. Spent over $1800.00 to find out what was wrong with my dog and yet still didn't get any good answers but they just wanted to do more test for which cost more money. My sister recommended Vet Playas. My husband wasn't to thrilled about crossing the border but I didn't care because my dog really needed help but without making me broke at the same time. With little less then $100.00 they were able to help my Beauty and she has been better ever since. I take her to get groomed.. to get her teeth cleaned and to do her annual check ups.

We took our dogs to Vet Playas for the first time to get their vaccinations updated and get their teeth cleaned, and we have been going there ever since. They were easy to schedule with and took great care of our dogs. We saved a bunch of money and got top quality service. They have a both US and Mexican phone numbers, and there is always a staff member available who speaks excellent English.

I am a long time dog owner/rescuer. I have spent thousands of dollars on veterinary care. This was honestly the best decision I ever made. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, I invite you to DM me and I will be glad to answer (btw-I am not compensated by this vet in any way, therefore I will give you my honest opinion

This is a full service Veterinarian Clinic, it's SMALL and VERY BUSY. You should prepare to WAIT (Hey, It's Mexico and things go slower. Not everything is "American speed")

The Doctor was FANTASTIC (Dr. Pricilla). She did a thorough exam on all dogs IN ENGLISH. When I returned to collect the dogs, Dr. Pricilla met with me again and went over the post operative care when I take them home. All dogs are healthy and much happier now their teeth are clean.

If you're considering getting your vet services in Mexico, go to Vet Playas. It's easy, high quality, and much cheaper. They were also helpful in knowing what we need to get our dogs back across the border to the US. All you need is a copy of their vaccination records. Make sure they have an up-to-date rabies vaccine. (A dog has to wait 30 days after its very first rabies vaccine to be able to cross, but it can cross immediately after subsequent booster shots.)
